You have the most important job in all the world. I know it doesn't feel that way sometimes. Parenting can be a messy job. The day to day chores of taking care of a family can make it seem less important than it is. The lessons you teach may seem to be routine. And you don't always get recognized for all that you do.
Still, you have the most important job in the world. Your influence on your child can impact the world for generations. The love you share with your child will be shared by your child. The lessons your child learns from you and because of your actions will be lessons she will share as well.
We all hope that our children will be successful as adults. We want the best for them, but sometimes it can be hard to see how they will touch the world. Still, it is true. Just because you can't see it when they're still learning the alphabet, or when they're having trouble getting out of bed in time to catch the school bus, don't let that fool you. Your child will one day have an influence on the lives of others. And that is why being a parent is the most important job in the world.
Never forget that God has a plan for your child. And he has given you the honor and responsibility of being the parent to raise her, with his help.
Some days being a parent is fun and easy. On those days when parenting is not fun, or it's more difficult than you ever imagined, try to see the positive potential in the future. Keep in mind that you have the most important job in the world.
From my parent's heart to yours,
Joy
