Don’t Give Up On Your Dreams!

Dont Give Up On Your Dreams Dont Give Up On Your Dreams!

Saturday has arrived! It's the day most people wait for all week. Work is done and the week-end is here. Unless you're a mom. A mother's job is never done. There are still children to take care of, meals to prepare, and household responsibilities that have to be done.

What are you doing today? Will it be fun with the family or do you have errands to run to prepare for next week? A trip to the movies or to the grocery store? Maybe it will be a little bit of work and a little fun, too.

So when will you work on those hopes and dreams you have? They may have faded if you haven't worked on them in a while. I know that as a busy mom it's possible that you haven't even had time to think about your dreams, much less work on them. Did you want to learn how to make luxury soaps that you could sell? Or maybe you hoped to go back to school and get your degree. Perhaps you hoped to travel, or share your gifts by performing on stage, singing or acting. Maybe you don't remember what your dreams were before life got so busy.

We make so many sacrifices for our children and if we're not careful we can sacrifice ourselves as well. That's not good for our kids, and it's certainly not good for us either.

Please take a little time and think about your dreams right now. (If you can't remember any then think about all the things you used to love to do as a child when you had free time.) Take a few minutes and just imagine what it would be like if those dreams came true. How does that feel?

Now what would it take to make that dream a reality? I realize that you don't have time to make it a reality today, but maybe you could take one small step towards your dream. That might mean stopping at the library to check out a book on soaps or maybe looking through a college catalog on-line. It might mean calling a travel agent for some brochures or writing down the words to that song you created while you cleaned the house, All you have to take is one step today, then one step tomorrow or maybe next week. It doesn't matter how fast you're moving as much as it matters that you're moving.

Don't give up on your dreams! Big journeys start with small steps, so take a small step today.

From my parent's heart to yours,

Joy
